Medico-legal Reports that Make the Difference

DIAL-AN-ANGEL® was established in March 1967 by Dena Blackman. Over the four decades, it has become recognised as Australia's leading Agency in home and family care. In fact, Dena became the first and only person in her field of endeavour to be recognised as an Expert Witness by all Supreme, District and Family Courts in NSW, ACT, SA, WA and Queensland. Danielle Robertson, CEO of DIAL AN ANGEL Pty Limited who worked alongside Dena for 20 years has now also been recognised as a Medico-Legal Expert Witness in NSW and Queensland Courts.

The Agency has provided assistance nationwide to clients with paraplegia, quadriplegia and with acquired and congenital brain injury. The various departments provide every kind of assistance from basic housekeeping and home maintenance tasks to 24 hours a day nursing and attendant-care.

Rates retrospective to 1967 can be supplied, which ensures that an accurate picture of the commercial costs of providing help in the home to the incapacitated and/or the disabled is accessible to the Courts.

DIAL-AN-ANGEL is noted for the excellence in both Case Management and Care Management. This service is always undertaken by an experienced or qualified Case Manager who oversees and co-ordinates a client’s rehabilitation and/or maintenance programme. The Case Manager is usually a Registered Nurse, an Occupational Therapist, a Social Worker or a Specialist Rehabilitation provider.

Where the clients or their families are unable to co-ordinate the care required, DIAL-AN-ANGEL undertakes to provide a comprehensive service and manage the care regime for the client. This normally includes the provision of a Case Manager who is not associated with the “hands-on” care of the client. The Home Nursing co-ordinators liaise regularly with the Case Manager, the carers, the client or the client’s family and the ‘customer’ who is paying for the service to be provided (eg. The Office of the Protective Commissioner or a Trustee Company). Ongoing reviews of the care are undertaken. In Managed Care arrangements, only Staff Angels© are provided.
